Emergency Relief

SFM Blitz Build Spring 2008 , in Griffin Ga.

This year’s build will be a two-bedroom house for a single mother caring for her disabled teenage daughter. The daughter suffers from cerebral palsy and epileptic seizures. Because the daughter is totally dependent on others for all aspects of daily care, her mother takes care of her every need including lifting her in and out of bed. This is at times difficult for the mother as she has lupus.

They currently live in a small two bedroom apartment that does not have adequate space for the special wheelchair and other equipment that are needed to support the daughter. She attends a special school, but at home she is often confined to her bedroom because of the lack of space to have her out playing with her toys or watching TV. In addition they have no washer and dryer hook-up so every week they go to the laundromat to wash their clothes.

The mother says that her daughter is a "blessing from God" and she prays that she can continue to take care of her. A modest home with handicap accessible features would go a long way toward facilitating care for Brandi.

With God’s blessing, Square Foot Ministry volunteers and supporters can make this miracle happen Feb. 16-23, 2008 in Griffin !
