What is Blitz Build? Blitz Build
is an annual event where Square Foot Ministry along with it's volunteers
build an entire house in one week. These houses are designated for a
needy family identified in the local community. We can only achieve this
goal with the support of our volunteers from
churches and the backing of local businesses and other organizations.
Most of all we look to the grace of God for our continued success.
Blitz
Build 2007 (Summer 2007) will be the build of a two-bedroom
house for a single mother and her disabled daughter. The daughter suffers
from cerebral palsy and epileptic seizures. The daughter is totally dependant
on others for all aspects of her daily care.
Currently they live in a two-bedroom apartment that does not have adequate
space for the wheelchair and other equipment. When not attending a special
school, the teenage girl is confined to her bedroom because of lack of
space. They also have no washer or dryer hook-ups.
The mother says that the daughter is a "Blessing from God" and
she prays that she can continue to take care of her.
The home that Square Foot Ministry will build will have handicap accessible
doors and bathroom fixtures, including the shower, as well as the needed
laundry facilities.
SFM Needs you!
You don't need any specialized skills to help us
build this house. All you need is a willingness to help. We need
people who can:
-
Do heavy construction work.
- Do light construction work.
- Clean and do yard work.
- Prepare and serve lunches and cold drinks.
- Run errands.
